Cebu’s model worker vies for national award

A four-time model employee and a consistent awardee for best attendance is this year’s Ramon Magsaysay Outstanding Filipino Worker Awardee for Region 7.

Mario Rebucas Jr. of TMX Philippines Inc. will vie for the national award which will be given in Manila this August.

Rebucas, who now teaches part time at the Cebu State College of Science and Technology (CSCST), comes from a family of 12 and worked his way to college.

He finished a three-year course on Technology Education and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education at CSCST.
He was employed by TMX in March 1993 as a cadet toolmaker.

Because of his potential and hardwork, he was promoted to higher positions and is now packaging engineer III.

Ambitions

His hard work enabled him to help his parents and send his other siblings to school.

For Mario, being poor was never an obstacle in achieving his ambitions.

He is married to Imelda Villarta, a public school teacher. The couple has two children.

The search for the President Ramon Magsaysay Outstanding Filipino Wor-ker is an annual recognition of outstanding Filipino workers who emulate the values and aspirations in work of one of our nation’s oustanding presidents.

Magsaysay believed that a person’s character is best judged by his or her actions.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority 7 searched for the regional nominee to the national search.
