RCMC names new prexy

The Rotary Club of Metro Cebu (RCMC) is set to install its 28th president and board of officers on July 28 at 6 p.m. at the Casino Espanol de Cebu on V. Ranudo St., Cebu City.

Gema Luisa “Gema” Pido, an insurance underwriter, will be inducted as the club’s president for Rotary Year 2006-2007.

RCMC will also mark its 28th year this year. It was chartered by Rotary International on June 3, 1978.

Inductees

Other inductees are Leopoldo Limgenco, president-elect; Eddie Barrita, vice president; Andres Llanos Jr., secretary; Floram Limot-limot, treasurer; Alain Senerpida, auditor; Hector Rosello, protocol officer; Danilo Quinto, immediate past president; Susan Valamayor, club service 1 director; Rodolfo Cabrera, club service 2 director; Lambert Lim Lam Thai, vocational service director; Wyben Briones, community service 1 director; Jose Flordeliz, community service 2 director; Leopoldo Limgenco, international service director; and Vicente Balbuena, youth service director.

RCMC recently conducted a medical mission in Masbate which benefited close to 5,000 poor residents.

Mission

The medical mission earned for the club the district award as the Most Oustanding Community Service Project.

Aside from the medical mission, the club has been holding an Operation Restore Hope medical mission for the last eleven years, helping 1,000 children with cleft palates or hare lips.
