Speak out: Jonkie and Ading By Mediong del Socorro Mandaue City
Politics is not really evil; politicians are. As the late John F. Kennedy said, politics is a way of getting things done.
I was told that if Mandaue City Mayor Teddy Ouano’s son Jonkie will run for mayor, Vice Mayor Ading Seno will likely run for the same post.
If this happens, then it is going to be Jonkie Ouano versus Ading Seno fight in Mandaue.
Jonkie’s political strength is anchored on the strength of Lakas-NUCD and the promised support of ward leaders. Political observers thus feel that Jonkie holds the advantage.
In the case of Seno, his political strength is in the doubtful support of other political group for Jonkie’s candidacy. And at the moment, he is developing and underdog image.
Disgruntled Lakas originals will surely not vote for Jonkie. Perhaps to spite him, they will vote for somebody else.
But the more dangerous are the politicians who have joined his political bandwagon and have pledged to support him. It has been said that before you betray, you first belong.
