Bacarisa brods deliver SIT win

Salazar Institute of Technology nipped American Feeds, 3-2, in a thrilling last inning rally to rule the recently concluded Barangay Cambaro Youth Organization Against Drugs Softball League at Barangay Cambaro, Mandaue City.

With two strike outs in the last inning and two runners in first and second bases, Zaldy Bacarisa hit a game winning bat and allowed his brother, Rolly Bacarisa, to run for home from the second base and seal their victory in the 7-inning format League.

American Feeds, on the other hand, lead the game in the first inning but got entangled in two deadlocks at the fifth inning.

“We were trailing behind, looking for an equalizer and praying to outlast them in the sixth and last innings. But, I guess, luck was on our side,” said Alintone Adolofo of SIT.

America Feeds settled for second place, while Pao de Arco and Pusok Lapu-Lapu landed third and fourth places.

During the single round-robin elimination round, SIT absorbed a loss but remained at par to qualify for the fourth spot in the semifinal round.

SIT defeated Pusok Lapu-Lapu and Pao de Arco before proceeding to their championship duel with American Feeds. (JAF)
