Speak Out: Ecleo’s health By Marife Tordesillas Sogod, Cebu
WAS I the only one who watched President Arroyo’s Sona last Monday and saw a smiling and clapping Ruben Ecleo Jr. in the gallery, sitting among the military’s top brass? He didn’t look sick. That’s for sure.
So why did the question of his health suddenly crop up again? If he can survive all that hot air among such uncaring, morally corrupt personages, then the cells at the Bagong Buhay Rehabilitation Center should suit him just fine.
Ecleo and his band of money-hungry, condescending and soulless lackeys—and I’m just talking about his defense team—have played the people of Cebu like monkeys.
What happened to justice for the Bacolod family or for the families of authorities slain in Dinagat Island? He should be held accountable for their deaths, even if he didn’t personally pull the trigger.
Any infraction committed by a member of his flock boomerangs on him as supreme master of the Philippine Benevolent Missionaries Association. Ever hear of command responsibility?
Anyway, enough is enough. Wipe that smirk off his face. Don’t make him think he got away with the crimes.
