Pagnanawon outruns younger cyclists
Boy Pagnanawon dominated the final individual time trial race for the month of July of the Road Cyclist of the Month last weekend at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.
Pagnanawon outclassed younger racers as he checked in at the finish line first, completing the 10-kilometer race in 15 minutes and 31 seconds. Miguel Flores came in second with a time of 16.07. at his heels is Haylin Bardaje, who crossed the finish line five seconds later.
Sharing fourth place were Xerox Lauron, Ian Colina and Ramsey Villaber, who all clocked in identical times of 16.8 minutes. Coming at fifth place was Orlan Toring, who finished the race in 16.20 minutes.
The monthly title, however, went to Toring, who accumulated a total of 100 points for the month, while his team Lapu-lapu-RUT bagged the team title for July.
Meanwhile, in the race for road cyclist of the year title, Lauron is ahead of the pack with a total of 374 points, while Bardaje (365), Patalinghug (343), Ian Colina (318) and Ricky Ermitanio (278), are temporarily taking the top five slots. (MCB)
