Velarde collars Cetba July title
Rey Velarde collared the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association Bowler of the Month for July after logging the most number of pinfalls last Saturday at the SM Bowling Center.
Velarde knocked down a total of 1,720 pinfalls in the eight-game series to bag the title. He also registered the highest scratch in a game when he scored 263 pinfalls in Game 3.
Jake Yap took the second spot with 1,684 pin-falls. Yap finished just four pins ahead of third placer Art Dacumos, who logged 1,680.
Boy Kua finished at fourth place with 1,640 pins, while Cetba president Ben Miranda took the fifth spot with 1,611.
Others in the top 10 for July are Hitoshi Aoyama, Alex Damole, Nestor Long-cayana, Beth Ngo and Christopher Foyle. (MCB)
