Globe to offer wireless power saving service

GlobeSolutions, the corporate wireless business group of Globe Telecom and Innove Communications, has brought to Cebu its line of innovative services to meet the growing telecommunication needs of companies in the province.

Aside from providing lines, voice and SMS (short messaging service) to corporate customers, Globe Solutions also creates mobile solutions to meet wireless communication needs for companies to maximize their productivity, efficiency and business profitability.

Among its latest offerings is the Globe energy management solution (Gems), a machine-to-machine service that enables enterprises to keep track of their energy consumption remotely via GPRS (general packet radio system) and SMS. It helps businesses initiate cost-saving measures.

Gems allows an establishment to check on its electrical consumption and set consumption budgets hourly and daily. Gems sends alerts via email or SMS when enterprises exceed their electric consumption budgets.

Gems will soon allow a customer to turn on or off ordinary electrical items via SMS, according to a company statement.

Corporate consumers are given regular energy consumption reports via Internet or SMS to help them understand their electric consumption patterns.

“With this information on hand, enterprises would be able to identify the factors that affect their consumption and implement efficiency measures,” GlobeSolutions said.

For corporations requiring messaging tools to enable business mobility, GlobeSolutions offers messageconnect, which provides direct reach to clients and employees and even enables polls, mini-campaigns and various business processes.

It gives enterprises a central messaging platform for all their communication needs, assuring users that they get up-to-date and reliable information. (JBN)
