Group sets forum on IT in business

The Cebu Educational Development Foundation for Information Technology (CEDF-IT) will hold a forum on harnessing information technology (IT) to increase business value on Tuesday at the Cebu City Sports Club.

CEDF-IT has invited MIS Asia editor John Lui to speak during the forum.

MIS Asia is Asia’s leading IT management magazine. It is based in Singapore but covers IT concerns in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia and Thailand.

Lui will present the results of MIS Asia IT Leaders Survey 2006, which details how business executives view IT as a major contributor to gaining competitive advantage.

The survey is in line with MIS Asia’s goal to provide management information for senior IT professionals.

The forum will be a good learning venue for senior IT managers, belonging to multinational firms, small and medium enterprises and, even those in the academe. It will enable them to better appreciate their role and tasks in increasing the business value of the IT investments of their organizations, through better planning and management.

The forum will introduce IT managers to the concepts, methodologies and tools to harness IT for business value. (PR)
