Cebu dive center gets Go Eco project operator status
Savedra Dive Center is the latest Professional Association of Diving Instructors (Padi) dive center to be awarded with Project Aware Go Eco operator status in 2006.
Project Aware Foundation, a non-profit environmental organization, launched the Go Eco campaign in the Asia Pacific region in 2005.
The main objective of campaign is for dive centers to minimize their impact on the aquatic ecosystem while contributing to environmental, economic and cultural conservation.
Dive centers are required to meet best practice environmental guidelines and commit to the Project Aware Go Eco philosophy.
“Savedra Dive Center is delighted to be awarded with the Project Aware Go Eco operator status for 2006. As a Go Eco operator, we are committed to providing dive experiences that enhance visitor awareness, appreciation and understanding of the local aquatic environment,” said Karl H. Epp, manager and Padi master instructor of Saveda Dive Center.
Joanne Marston, coordinator of Project Aware Asia Pacific added, “We are pleased to recognize Savedra Dive Center as a Go Eco operator. We look forward to working with them to implement environmental best practices and educate tourists about how they can travel responsibly.”

Go Eco operators also demonstrate a commitment to conservation and pledge to follow the Go Eco operator guidelines.

Savedra Dive Center is Cebu’s first Padi 5 Star Dive Center.
It is located in Moalboal, which is one of the premier dive spots of the Philippines and well-known for its undisturbed underwater world and whale shark encounters.
