Kapatid live in Cebu!

Get up close and personal with Kapatid at Club Vudu tomorrow. Also featuring Cebu’s very own Attack of the Giant Fetus, Anino, Cagayan de Oro’s Gasulina and more. Doors open at 9 p.m.

In existence for over four years, Kapatid has always been influential in the music scene with their ever-evolving yet likeable tunes. Their sound has educated the audience with a new perspective far from the traditional and stereotypical style. It was, in a sense, a whole new genre of music. Through the years, the band has tackled major trials and events. But this never stopped them from writing and playing what they want. Now with new material, Kapatid is ready to take the scene to even newer heights. Entitled Luha, this sophomore release contains the band’s most intimate and personal experiences with twelve new tracks containing coherent concepts that span a wide reach. The carrier single - spearheads the album release with an aggressive groove but positive message. And the song speaks more of melancholy with a tune and lyrics that complement.

The funky Hanging Out sets a laid-back atmosphere with an R n’ B feel to it, while Doon sticks out with the heavy emotion found in both its sound and words.

It is these songs (as well as others in the album) that make one grow more and more fond of this type of the music after each listening. And it is these songs that define Kapatid today.

New material, new band line-up: Original members Karl Roy (vocals) and J-hoon Balbuena (drums) are joined by Louie Talan and Anjones Elemos on bass and guitar respectively. Both are accomplished musicians in their own rights, having come from well-known bands. They have gained the recognition both from fellow musicians and their audience that have earned them stellar reputations in the music scene.Four diverse individuals with combined musical talents make up this band that writes and plays sublime music. That is Kapatid.

Club Vudu is located at the Crossroads Mall Banilad and is open from Wednesdays-Saturdays from 9 p.m. onwards. For more info and party updates log on to www.vudu.com.ph. www.myspace.com/clubvudu, www.friendster.com/clubvudu or email club.vudu@gmail.com.
