Atan Guardo defends title

Atan Guardo proved its might once again after beating San Remigio Beach Club in convincing fashion, 106-89, to grab the championship title twice in a row in the K Gallery Cup basketball tournament second conference last Wednesday night.

Jerome Acebron and Michael Cinco, who unleashed 20 and 18 markers respectively aside from grabbing 11 combined
rebounds, did wonders for Atan Guardo after instigating a 13-4 rally in the first quarter to erect a commanding 12-point lead, 26-14.

Deficit cut

Rey Perolino and Francisco Gonzales, who combined for 36 points, lifted San Remigio from the scoring slump, after enforcing their presence in the shaded lane to cut down the deficit in the second quarter to just five points, 45-40.

Playing coach Ramesh Mulchandani made an impressive performance in defense after silencing Rey Perolino and Francisco Gonzales, who combined for 36 points, in the second half while grabbing a total of 14 rebounds.

Villanueva mightly carried Atan Guardo in the penultimate quarter, after conniving with Richard Gubaton for a run-and-gun attack, en route to Atan Guardo's winning the championship crown.
