I can’t afford to lose again: Morales
For Erik "El Terrible' Morales, his third fight against Manny Pacquiao will be the turning point of his career.
"I feel's it's a very important fight for my career because it's one that I can't afford to lose. I have to win," Morales told boxingscene.com
The 29-year-old Mexican, who holds a 48-4 record with 34 KOs, may be headed for retirement if he loses for the second time against Pacquiao in November.
Dip in form
After a stellar record that saw him winning his first 41 fights, Morales performance has dipped in the past two years, as he lost three of his last four fights, against bitter rival Marco Antonio Barrera, Pacquiao and Zahir Raheem.
Going into his critical fight, Morales is taking no chances as he has various consultants, who's sole purpose is to help him make weight, a problem he says shifted the tide to Pacquiao's favor in the second fight, when he lost by a 10th round TKO.
"I just want to show the people what I can do. I'm not chasing a knockout. If it does happen, it happens. All I know is that in the last fight I was tired and that's how I got beat," the Mexican legend said in the interview. (ML)
