Kua wins August ladies bowl tilt

Cynthia Kua was on an unstoppable roll as she knocked down 1,156 pins to rack up a victory in the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) Ladies' Bowler of the Month over the weekend at SM Bowling Center.

Kua, a 10-handicapper, finished the six-game series tourney with 1,156 pinfalls and enjoys a confident 39-point advantage over runner-up Salve Tesio, who took second spot with 1,117 pinfalls.

With the win, Kua earned a slot to the Cetba Ladies' Bowler of the Year tournament at the end of the year against the other monthly winners.

Taking third place is Inday de Gracia, who tallied a 1,096-pinfall performance.

Kua had maintained a steady performance and refused to give way to the other former fixtures in Cebu bowling, such as Vice Governor Greg Sanchez Women's winner Rose Foyle, who settled at fourth.

It was sweet revenge for Kua, whose team finished only second to Foyle's in the cash-rich vice guv’s tiff.

Ester Francisco, Carol Damucos, Charly Bonita, Jeanette Cabiasa, Tess Regino and Beth Ngo make up the top ten finishers. (MCB)
