Pedro Penduko comes to TV

ABS-CBN  is proud to announce the start of the most lavish production of Komiks to date: Komiks Presents: Da Adventures of Pedro Penduko.

For  the  first time ever, the hit anthology Komiks will be using the multi-episode  story format to present the story of the classic komiks hero Pedro  Penduko, one  of  the  earliest and most beloved fantasy heroes in komiks history.

Pedro’s story started in Liwayway magazine 1954 through theimagination  of  Francisco  V.  Coching,  considered  the  dean of Filipino illustrators and the dean of Filipino komiks.

A  strong plot underlines this production. We are introduced to Pedro (Matt Evans) a teenager raised by his loving grandmother (Gloria Romero). A simple   and  very  ordinary  boy,  Pedro  constantly  gets  picked  on  by neighborhood  bullies.  To  escape his harsh reality, Pedro has built up an elaborate  fantasy  life—a life full of diwatas, engkantos, duwendes and all  sorts  of  characters  from  Filipino  mythology—which  he uses to entertain  his  grandmother  and  neighborhood  kids.

One day, however, he stumbles  upon the reason that he was given to his lola’s care—his father (Albert  Martinez), a  gifted healer, was kidnapped by the dalaketnons, or evil engkantos. It is now Pedro’s mission to go to the kingdom of Floreshka and  save  his  father—while realizing that all the creatures he’d heard about and talked about are all true.

Spongecola  sings the original theme song for the series—a new song called Bitiw.
