Speak out: Bantayan officials’ move
By Sam Costanilla
Consultant on Media Affairs, Province of Cebu

Bantayan municipal officials led by Mayor Geralyn Escario-Cañares made the right move in finally abandoning the Martinezes and moving to the camp of Gov. Gwen Garcia.

They should be commended for dumping traditional politicians in favor of the governor whose brand of politics is based on performance and genuine public service.

Definitely, this development has contributed further to the political downfall of the Martinezes, Bantayan being one of the vote-rich towns in the 4th district.
