Faster, better Olympian

The University of Cebu may have bagged its 12th straight crown, but this year’s edition wasn’t only about the athletics powerhouse.

It was about the more than 7,000 athletes from all over the Visayas who trooped to Cebu for the annual Olympics.

De la Salle Andres Memorial College started the Olympics with a win in the cheerdance competition. To support their team, they had to contact alumni to join a busload of students to help cheer the team.

There is also the impressive feat of Lorelee Echavez, who singlehandedly vaulted the University of San Carlos to the top 10 with five gold medals in swimming, including two in record-breaking fashion.
