Patalinghug outduels Lauron for RCM title
Richard Patalinghug sneaked past Xerox Lauron in last weekend’s Recycle Road Cyclist of the Month race at the Mandaue City North Reclamation Area to leap to second place in the over-all tally.
It was a group sprint towards the finish line with Patalinghug of Team RUT crossing the finish line ahead of Sparkleen’s Lauron, beating him by a mere arms’ length.
Marnel Gabato, Junjun Canasa and Art Lambo took the next three places in the 15-lap, 35-kilometer race.
With the win, Patalinghug is now at second in the over-all list 55 points, while Canasa of Team Kalit remains on top with 87 points.
The racer who racks up the most number of points in the weekly contest will bag the monthly title and will get a chance to compete in the Road Cyclist of the Year diadem.
In the team event, Team Kalit is on top with 160 points. RUT Machine Shop is second with 134 points, while Gwapings is currently at third with 118 points. (MCB)
