The Philippine wheat flour milling industries at the forefront of the Mabuhay Tinapay campaign to drum up interest in bread products and other wheat-based food in the country.
Pilmico Foods Corporation and other local wheat flour millers have combined resources with U.S. Wheat Associates, the marketing arm of American wheat farmers, in an effort to increase the Filipinos’ appetite for pandesal, monay, loaf bread and other wheat flour-based delicacies.
The Mabuhay Tinapay campaign aims to promote the consumption of all kinds of bread among Filipinos for its health benefits and to encourage bakers and bakery owners to patronize locally milled flour.
The program was formally launched in Market! Market at the Fort. The campaign will also be brought to the provinces. There will be pocket launches scheduled in Cebu and Dagupan in September and October, respectively.
The Mabuhay Tinapay Program also salutes bakers for their efforts in providing nutritious food and employment opportunities to a large number of Filipinos. It has programs and rewards lined up as incentives to bakers and bakery operators.
