Red unbeaten in BTBA caging

The Red team stayed unbeaten in their first three outings after demolishing Green, 73-47, in the Barangay T. Padilla Basketball Association (BTBA) 1st Sports Commissioner Cup basketball tournament at the T. Padilla Sports Complex.

Adjeck Ybañez banged in 18 points to lead Red’s rampaging offense all throughout in the game.

In the curtain-raiser, Navy Blue, finally barged into the win column after three tries as it routed heavily favored Lemon Yellow, 95-88.

In the second game, White won against Apple Green by forfeiture, improving the former’s win-loss record to 2-2 to take the second spot.

Kick off

Meanwhile, the newly formed PNP-Citom Basketball Association (PCBA) will kick off today with their first inter-color basketball tournament at the Cogon Ramos Sports Complex.

PCBA commissioner Julito Baldago, along with newly elected technical officials PO3 Romeo Cabrera, Abraham Mordeno, Lyndon Loto Ocampo, Eleazar Gomez, Ruel Sarnejo and Adrel Yongco, will assist in the regulation of the tournament.

Cebu City Councilor Jack Jakosalem is the invited guest of honor in the opening ceremony along with Chief Inspector Marlo Martinez, Arnel Tancinco, and Barangay Cogon Ramos chairman, Danny Alfafara.

Six teams— White, Gold, Orange, Blue, Red and Green—will see action in the tournament.

Navy Blue (95)-Rosales 22, Devio 18, Tuico 11, Onsiones 11, Montecello 10, Tuico 9, Castro 5. Lemon Yellow (88)-Mordeno 29, Sy 16, Bacullo 15, Ulan 14, Tancio 8, Cagape 6.

Red (73)-Ybañez 19, Orge 17, Ulan 12, Canque 8, Arnibal 6, Limpangog 4, Pelares 4, Camia 2. Moss Green (47) - Montes 16, Cabudbud 12, Diez 7, Repolidon 5, Canoy 4, Rumpab 2. (JAF)
