Rama drops 35 for Tommy&Tony

CEBU City vice mayor Michael Rama showed his constituents that he’s not only good in legislation but also in other things as well.

Rama powered the Tommy&Tony quintet to a 111-108 victory over the Cebu Amateur Basketball Association (Caba) selection during the opening of the 2nd Caba season at the San Nicolas Sports Complex.

Rama, known as a dead-shot from the arc, buried 35 markers, peppered with five treys, to lead all scorers of Tommy&Tony in the exhibition match.

Winners

In the official game, tallying victories in the first day of action were Barako, which trounced Megastress, 85-75, and Corrtech, which trampled Guillermo, 94-92.

In the curtain-raiser, the Caba selection sped off to an 11-point lead, 38-28, at the end of the opening period behind the hot shooting of Cesar Ortega and Danny Estrera.

But it turned out to be the last time Caba got the lead as Tommy&Tony began dictating the tempo in the next three quarters after their shooters woke up with Rama leading the charge.

Jun Cabangca added 29 points for Tommy&Tony, while former UV Green Lancer Rene Toring and Jumel Sable combined for 26 points.

Tommy&Tony (111)–Rama 35, Cabangca29, Toring 13, Ju. Sable 13, Jo. Sable 10, Romarate 6, Ledesma 3, Cabaluna 2. Caba (108)–Ortega 20, Estrera 18, Villar 17, Naron 15, Manayon 14, Castillo 9, Acejo 8, Baba 4, Salili 3. (JSV)
