Jamie Lee Guillen Kokseng was a vision of corporate impeccability when I first saw her in a newly-reopened hotel. In person and during our photo shoot, Jamie displayed a visual malleability that’s a delight to a photographer. She can be a vamp or a rock chick. Then she can lower her strong presence and be girlish. Although she shies away from the limelight, Jamie cannot and will not fade gently into obscurity. With her surname, her beauty and intelligence, she’s bound to walk the red carpet.
Have you read “The Devil Wears Prada” or seen the movie version?
I’ve seen the movie. Meryl Streep is a great actress. She has managed to put a human face to evil. People always think of the devil as something obvious.
Unfortunately, it wouldn’t be tempting if it was...I highly recommend the movie. The story in itself is not new, but the characterization of Meryl Streep is first-rate.
Your must-haves at the moment. 1. Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil - It does wonders for my skin. 2. MAC Pressed Powder - Gives an even finish. 3. The Japanese Tofu dish in Mikado - I eat it as much as my diet allows! Hahaha! 4. A good spa like The Spa at Cebu, the one near Maria Luisa. For a little R n' R and pampering.
What was your “rebel” look and how long did it last? My Black-and-grey phase lasted about a year. My wardrobe consisted of two colors...black and grey! My mom calls it the “Let’s make myself ugly” phase.
What’s the most daring fashion statement you’ve made? I wouldn’t call it daring...Leather jacket and boots!
going over your photo album, what dress did can’t you stand looking at now? None.
Where do you get your inspiration in designing your fashion jewelry? Who are your target markets?
Anyone who loves fashion! I can’t really pinpoint what it is that influences the fashion accessories I make. When the mood hits me, I just create from sundown to sunrise!
