Wednesday, October 11, 2006 Cardiac patients form local support group
THE cardiac patients of Metro-Cebu have formed an association called the Kapamilya Sa Puso-Cebu Association Inc.
The members are those who underwent a heart by-pass, angioplasty, valve replacement surgeries or those who had heart attacks and even those with risk factors leading to heart diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus and high cholesterol.
It is a non-stock, non-profit organization, with the aim of creating a support group for cardiac patients, providing an avenue for continuing education and awareness of their illness, and fostering camaraderie among patients.
A lay forum, screening for cholesterol, blood sugar and osteoporosis and an induction of the new set of officers was held at the Baseline Restaurant last Oct. 7.
