Wednesday, October 11, 2006 Talk back: Labor case still to be resolved By Rameses Villagonzalo Counsel for Peterpol Perocillo
I would like to comment on the news item in your paper (Sun.Star Cebu, Oct. 7, page 14) involving Mr. Peterpol Perocillo and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF).
To straighten out the records, respondents USPF and Oscar P. Jereza Jr. failed to serve and file the required position paper on Oct. 3, 2006.
Based on that failure, we filed an urgent motion to submit case for resolution on the basis of a position paper for the complainant dated Oct. 3, 2006.
Whoever sent a text message stating that the National Labor Relations Commission has already dismissed the labor case filed by Perocillo might just have been confused or is misleading the public and the media.
What was dismissed was the firearm case against Perocillo.
The labor case is still up for resolution on the basis of Perocillo’s position paper because USPF and Jereza did not file their position paper on Oct. 3, 2006.
I hope I have clarified the issue on the alleged dismissal of the labor case filed by Perocillo against the respondents.
