Sharks, Rebels rout rivals to No. 1 spot in CFFL Norkis 7 on 7 flag football

THE LaserArt Sharks and the Pyroworks Rebels beat their foes to share the lead in Men’s Division of the the Norkis Yamaha 7 on 7 Cebu Flag Football League at the San Roque Parish grounds in Mandaue City.

The Sharks devoured defending champion Vudu Pink Flamingos, 26-20, in overtime, while the Rebels came up with a kryptonite to beat the Supermen, 26-6.

Both teams now have a 2-0 win-loss slate.

Three TDs

The Sharks and the Flamingos had three touchdowns and two conversions each at the end of regulation for a 20-all draw.

However, in extension, Junjun Celocia provided the heroics as he drove in the final touchdown for their close win. It was Celocia’s second touchdown in the game, to lead the Shark’s offense together with Sean Sico, who also got to the end line twice.

The Flamingos were led by John Hall and Gio Borromeo. Hall had two touchdowns while Borromeo scored one and hand one conversion.

In the other game, the Piranhas nipped the Browning and Sol Cocks, 13-10 to barge into the win column after two outings.

Easy wins

In the Women’s Division, defending champion LaserArt Sharkettes, UV Dark Angels and the Hot Teas blanked their respective foes.

The Hot Teas blanked the Chargers 32-0, while the Sharkettes defeated Pyroworks, 27-0 and the Dark Angels defeated the Supergirls, 12-0.

The Hot Teas were led by Laury Prudent with back ups from Aimee Hall, Carmel Colina and Blessie Delos Santos. (JAF)
