Filipino inventor to speak at forum

MANY have probably lamented over the hassle of using carbon paper to duplicate documents.

Then came “carbonless duplicating paper;” and those who have used them were not only amazed but thankful the thing was invented. But who to thank?

The man is Johnson W. Fong.

Fong is an innovator, inventor and owner of several patents for office supplies, more specifically in relation to paper. He is well known among Filipino inventors as the inventor of the “carbonless duplicating paper.”

He continues to innovate and develop revolutionary products and has several pending patent applications for registration with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.

With a masters degree in business administration for international marketing management from the Miami University, Wong knows very well how to profit from his inventions.

He relies heavily on patent registration for protection from those who would try to have a free-ride on the success of his innovative and inventive products.

He now serves as the chairman and director of the Filipino Inventors Society Inc., advancing and advocating for the interest and welfare of Filipino inventors.

Fong will impart his ideas and knowledge on why protecting one’s inventions with patent registration is a good business investment during a round-table discussion starting noon on Oct. 17 at the City Sports Club Cebu. (PR)
