Thursday, October 12, 2006 DBC pulls off lopsided win to enter semis in MiloBest
DON Bosco College (DBC) formalized its entry to the semifinal round of the 17th Milo Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training (Best) basketball tournament with an astounding victory last weekend at the DBC courts.
DBC crushed University of San Carlos North Campus (USC-NC), 108-10. It opened its assault flawlessly as it clamped USC-NC in the first half.
DBC only allowed its victim to score in the third canto, where USC-NC sank in six points of its ten points.
The lopsided win was an improvement to DBC’s performance in its last outing, where it barely survived whipping boys Cebu Institute of Technology, 34-31. DBC enters the semifinals with a 3-1 win-loss slate.
Drop out
USC-NC B dropped out of contention after failing to score a single win in the entire tournament.
USC-NC A retaliated for its sister team’s loss, as it drubbed Colegio dela Inmaculada Concepcion-Mandaue, 63-41, in the other bracket.
In the small basketeers division, Sacred Heart School-Jesuit (SHS-J) pulled off a monumentally lopsided 74-6 win over USC South Campus.
SHS-J is poised to take a slot to the semifinal round, but it needs to hurdle past the DBC SBP team this weekend for its last game to determine the top team in the bracket.
In the other SBP game, DBC defeated USC-NC Team B, 47-23. (MCB)
