Guardo, Eco-Tech score easy routs

ATAN Guardo and Eco-Techo posted their fifth win after scoring convincing routs over separate rivals in the 7th Cebu Eastern College-Guardo Friendship Cup basketball tournament at the CEC Gym last Tuesday.

Guardo buried the winless CEC-PTA, 101-44, while Eco-Tech routed JV Shop, 89-59.

Atan Guardo dominated the CEC-PTA from start to finish and erected a 25-point lead at the half and widened it to over 50 at the final buzzer.

Hot-shot Virgil Pua led the rampage with a game-high 24 points on top of six triples, while power-center

Dindo Sausa earned his living in the shaded area to finish with 23 markers.

Assault

Edwin Banaag sparked the early assault for Atan Guardo, dropping 10 points in the opening period of his 16, while Petoy Mata added 12 points.

In the Eastern Division, former league leader Eco-Tech nailed its fifth win at the expense of Maxxis Tires.

Diminutive

Flashy power-center Jason Chan and diminutive power-forward Anwar Satina scored 20 and 15 points, respectively, to power Eco-Tech. Tony Chua also added all of his 11 points in the final canto, while 6-foot-3

Mark Satorre and Totie Yap joined the fray as they combined for 21 points.

Rex Milan scored 12 points to lead JV Shop, which dropped to 3-5.
