Thursday, October 12, 2006 Mateo gets P100T for hole-in-one in TOC anniv cup
JOE Mateo holed-in-one the signature Island Green in the 15th hole of Mactan Island Golf Club (MIGC) during the TOC Anniversary Cup held on Saturday. Mateo went home with a P100,000 prize.
On the other hand, Rodrigo Taghoy won the over-all championship trophy with a lowest gross of 76 in a System 36 golf tournament during the celebration of the 5th Tactical Operations Command of the Philippine Air Force (TOC) anniversary.
Four holes
In Class A, lawyer Nilo Seno was the champion with a net score of 68, having birdied four holes while Jungolfer Vijay Vasandani was the runner-up with a net score of 70.
Taiwanese Jose Hsieh ruled the Class B division with a net score of 70 while Korean national Andrew Wu was the runner-up with a net score of 71.
In Class C, Singaporean Raymund Tan was the champion with a net score of 72. Robert “Undo” Selma won the runner-up trophy when he tied the score with Tan at 70 but he lost because Tan had the most number of pars.
In the Guest Division, Koreans Song Hyoun Anthony and Oh Sae Yong fought it out when both netted 70. Anthony was declared the winner because he has a lower handicap than Yong. Yong was runner-up.
In the Ladies Division, Taiwnese Li Huah Hsieh won the champion trophy because she has a lower handicap over Jungolfer Abby Olea. They both netted 72. Hsieh is handicap 17, while Olea is handicap 23. (PR)
