Monday, October 16, 2006 Sharks, Sharkettes win, take solo leads
THE Sharks and Sharkettes proved to be dominant predators in the field after pulling their third-straight victories yesterday in the Norkis Yamaha 7-on-7 Cebu Flag Football League (CFFL) tournament at the San Roque Parish field in Mandaue City.
With the wins, both teams wiggled out of a two-way logjam.
The Sharks devoured the Piranhas, 33-12 in the men's division to take solo lead with 3-0 win-loss card.
The Sharkettes also gained a 3-0 record after blanking the Chargers, 40-0, in the women's section.
The Sharks ran five touchdowns, courtesy of Ronald Madrolin, Sean Sico, Michael Simbajon, Harry Radaza and Junjun Celocia, who last week sealed the win against defending champion Vudu Pink Flamingos with a touchdown.
The Flamingos, though, finally barged into the win column after pulling the season's best score so far—a 55-0 victory over the Supermen.
"Well, we lost in our first straight outings. But it does not say we're down or out. All Teams' just getting excited and stronger," said Flaminggo's Dennis Unchuan.
In an upset, the Cocks won over the Pyworks Rebels, 31-26.
The Cocks had five touchdowns coming from Chris Llegumas, Wiltrie Perez, Chris Fabunan, Taino Tennez and Marlou Aballe.
Chris Fabunan also contributed for the Cocks victory with a point conversion. (JAF)
