Friday, October 20, 2006 Diesel power plant earns four ISO certificates
IN just over a year after bagging the ISO 9001, 2000 series certification, Bohol Diesel Power Plant (BDPP) has completed the Integrated Management System (IMS) certification process.
National Power Corp.’s (Napocor) 22-megawatt BDPP in Dampas District, Tag-bilaran City has also established a documented quality, environment, and safety and health management system (QESHMS).
After the preliminary and two-stage audit that ended last Sept. 30, BDPP will be given certificates that will signify its compliance to ISO 9001 for quality management system), ISO 14001 for environmental management system and OSHAS 18001 for occupational health and safety assessment.
The BDPP will also be granted an IMS certificate, bringing to four its total number of international standards certifications. The Bureau Veritas Certification conducted the power plant’s audit of the QESHMS.
BDPP was awarded the ISO 9001 certificate on May 25, 2005 by the Bureau Veritas Quality International.
The adoption of QESHMS is proof of BDPP’s commitment to consistently practice the international standards of management systems to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction, and ensure the best care for the environment and the safety and health of its employees and assets.
