Sherilin, Cokaliong win

WORLDWIDE Steel stretched its winning streak to six games after tallying a victory without a sweat yesterday versus the no-show JV Shop N’ Shop in the opening of the second round of the 2006 Winners League basketball tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Cokaliong Shipping Lines and Sherilin Plastics, on the other hand, took a share of the second spot after demolishing separate rivals.

Cokaliong logged its fourth victory in six outings after skinning alive the cellar-dwelling Castle Peak Hotel, 88-52, in the opening game, while Sherilin Plastics logged win number four with a 61-48 bashing of Global Carrier in the second game.

Chester Cokaliong registered his fourth game of scoring 30 points or more as he waxed hot from the outside to finish with 31 markers, seven assists, one rebound and one steal to lead Cokaliong to victory.

Christopher Cokaliong also dished out an excellent performance as he logged in a double-double performance of 12 points and 14 rebounds.
