Capitol to buy P13M in vehicles, supplies

THE Cebu Provincial Government is bidding out some P13 million worth of vehicles and materials to address the different needs of municipalities.

Suppliers are called to join the bidding for six more military jeeps that the Capitol will distribute to police stations in the towns.
Also, the Province intends to buy 12 fire trucks to give to various municipalities.

Because the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) have cited the lack of funds for the absence of vehicles in some towns, the Capitol had decided to make the purchase from its own coffers.

The Province has drawn up a memorandum of agreement for the use of the vehicles, to give the towns the responsibility of maintaining them. The Capitol maintains ownership, and the PNP and the BFP are supposed to assign personnel.

The six military jeeps will cost P1.2 million while the fire trucks, around P10 million.

Opening of bids for the vehicles will be on Nov. 21.

Aside from the vehicles, the bids and awards committee is also bidding out materials for the expansion and development of the Somosa Water Sytem in Tabogon, northern Cebu.

The water system’s various pipes are costing the Province P365,351.

The Capitol will also construct another water system in Barangay Tagaytay, Carmen and the Province is paying for P482,879 worth of construction materials.

Aside from Barangay Tagaytay, the water system of Carmen’s Barangay Cogon West will soon be rehabilitated. Construction materials alone for the project will cost the Capitol P1,075,076.

Also to be bid out is an equipment to help improve services at the Bantayan District Hospital. The bids and awards committee is looking for a supplier of a blood chemistry analyzer, worth P260,000.

Opening of bids will be on Nov. 14. (JPM)
