Tuesday, October 31, 2006 Sunburst resto joins foodstreet
SUNBURST Fried Chic-ken, through its franchisee Josie Osmeña-Dy, has joined food establishments along the “foodstreet” on A.S Fortuna St., Mandaue City.
In an interview, Dy said she was inspired by the positive response of the market, which she described was from the higher-end to the lower class, since the soft opening on Oct. 7 of the semi-fine dining restaurant.
“Since our soft opening, we have had served more than 1,000 customers,” she said.
Investment
Dy said her franchise of Sunburst, which is the 11th branch nationwide of the 35-year-old chicken restaurant, is the first middle-end restaurant along the foodstreet.
“Most of the restaurants along this area serve either the high-end market or the lower-end market. There is no restaurant for the middle market that is open whole day,” she said.
Dy’s initial investment for the restaurant is P8.5 million, which represents Sunburst’s franchise fee.
Sunburst-A.S Fortuna St. stands on a 400-square-meter leased lot.
It has two function rooms that can accommodate 30 persons each and a main dining area with a seating capacity of 150 persons.
Dy, who is into the car shop business, said this is her family’s first venture into the food business. (JBN)
