Cetba jrs rule bowling tilt

THE Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) juniors made waves in the "city of smiles" after dominating the recently concluded 8th Negros Tenpin Bowling Open Tournament at the Lopue's East Bowling Center in Bacolod City.

Cetba's 14-year-old sensation Christopher Foyle stretched his lead with a series high 267 pinfalls and finished 1,834 pinfalls to seal the victory in the master event.

Foyle brought home the P30,000 top purse and the gold trophy of the tournament, held last Oct. 19-21.

Sixteen-year-old John Gasataya of Sacred Heart School-Jesuits (SHS-J) improved his way to the money circle after struggling in 28th place during the qualifying games.

Finally, Gasataya got the momentum to play consistently to salvage second place after dropping 1,735 pins.

Gasataya received P20,000 and the silver trophy.

Fifteen-year-old Jake Yap, also a high school student from SHS-J, registered 1,655 pins to bag the P10,000 cash and the bronze medal.

Ruben Ramirez of ITBA came in fourth place with the P6,000 cash purse after falling 1,616 pinfalls, while Jomar Jumapao, also from SHS-J, took the fifth place prize of P4,000 after finishing 1,593 pinfalls.

Completing the top 10 finishers were Dennis Ramirez of SLETBA, Teody Chavoso of STAI, Jimmy Yap of STAI, Orly Estrabo of SLETBA and Papio Dios. (JAF)
