Tuesday, November 07, 2006 Dole to give training on safety for workers
THE Bureau of Working Conditions (BWC) of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) is encouraging safety professionals to participate in the 39th National Industrial Safety Convention on Nov. 8 to 10 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
It is also urging companies to send their safety and health officers, such as safety officers and consultants, nurses and physicians, industrial hygienist and other safety personnel, to the conference at company expense and on official time in order for these personnel to acquire additional knowledge, skills and information, and learn from the best practices on occupational safety and health.
The national convention is being organized by the Safety Organization of the Philippines Inc. (Sopi), in cooperation with BWC and the Philippine National Red Cross.
Sopi, a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian organization, has been spearheading for over 46 years the nationwide observance of the different aspects of safety to sustain interest and awareness of its importance in all levels and sectors of society.
