Speak out: Will Tingting de la Serna run?
By Nicolas C. Veloso
Mandaue City

Let us assume that the next few months will see a Vicente “Tingting” de la Serna pop up in the sixth district.

Will the former governor run for congress in 2007?

Five months ago, I would have said no.

Not that I didn’t believe him when he told us he was not seeking elective position.

But Tingting is now doing the things he never wanted to do before in the district.

Anyway, can he win?

Again, this is guesswork.

Chances are he will win if there is chemistry between his ward leaders and former senator Sonny Osmeña and nobody in the opposition will bear thunder and lightning.

Question: Will Tingting de la Serna lose face if he reneges on his word and run?

Our assumption remains that he is the man to beat.
