Pacquiao, Morales weigh same on mandatory pre-fight scales

SEVEN days into the fight night, Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales is on target of making the 130-pound limit for their third superfight on Nov. 18 (Nov. 19 RP time) at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The WBC seven-day pre-fight weigh-ins, showed both fighters tipping the scales at 136 pounds in the pay-per-view Pacquiao-Morales III, dubbed the “Grand Finale.”

WBC assigned Rudy Tellez to weigh Pacquiao at the Wild Card Gym the other day, while Jose Herrera Ornelas traveled to the Otomi Mountains in Mexico City, where the training camp of Morales is, to report the progress yesterday.

However, as reported in Philboxing.com, Pacquiao is now down to 134 pounds yesterday, a week before they take the official weigh-in in Las Vegas.

It is important for both parties to make the weight limit stipulated in the contract, as Morales had agreed to pay Pacquiao $500,000 for every pound over the limit.

Meanwhile, Cebuano promoter Rex “Wakee” Salud announced that live satellite feed of the fight is available at the Cebu Coliseum and the Mandaue City Sports Complex for P200 and P100 gate fees.

Other venues

Salud told Sun.Star Cebu before he left for the US for the Pacquiao-Morales match that wide-screens will be set up at the following venues for fight fans who cannot afford to watch the fight live at the cinemas or at posh venues.

Other areas that will be airing live the Grand Finale fights are Victoria Hall of the Cebu Parklane International Hotel for P800 inclusive of brunch buffet and bottomless coffee and juices; the Cebu City Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom at P800, consumable with free-flowing draft beer, softdrinks and coffee;
Club Ultima Tower 2 at Fuente Osmeña for P600 inclusive of brunch buffet; Crown Regency in Mactan and Guadalupe also for P600 inclusive of brunch buffet; and at the Metro-sports in Lahug for P400, with sandwich and bottomless iced tea.

Live action is also available at the SM Cinemas for P500. (RCM)
