Top team Realtors go for 8th win vs. Coke

Games Today:
4:35 p.m. Sta. Lucia vs. Coca-Cola Araneta Coliseum
7:20 p.m. San Miguel vs. Red Bull Araneta Coliseum

LEAGUE leaders Sta. Lucia Realtors will gun for their eighth victory against the struggling Coca-Cola Tigers in today’s curtain raiser game of the 2006-07 Talk N Text PBA Philippine Cup, which will be at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Realtors, the first team to clinch a 6-1 win-loss card in the All-Filipino Cup, totes a 7-2 win-loss record after their last two outings, which included a loss to the Red Bull Barakos last Wednesday and a win against the Alaska Aces last Friday.

The Realtors, which has turned itself into a championship-caliber team this season, will be expecting again the services of Paolo Mendoza, Dennis Espino, Kenneth Duremdes, Ronnie Baghao, Ricky Calimag, Marlou Aquino, Alex Cabagnot and Nelbert Omolon when they try to seal an 8-2 record today.

Poor record

However, the youth-laden Tigers, with a miserly 3-6 win-loss card to land at eighth place, will try to deny the Realtors a victory.

The Tigers will be relying on Allan Salangsang, Chris Pacana, Ali Peek, Neil Raneses, James Yeo, Calany Ferreria and Johnny Arigo for the offensive spark.

Meanwhile, an exciting match is expected in the main gamem as the San Miguel Beermen and the Red Bull Barakos try to outgun each other at 7:20 p.m.

The Barakos, which carry a 6-3 win-loss slate, will try to stay in solo second place with a victory today, while the Beermen will try to force their way to snatch temporary second place. (JAF)
