Developer installs big pipes

Kishanta now carries the biggest pipe culverts ever utilized here in Cebu.

The standard biggest size of reinforced concrete (RC) pipes is 1,800 millimeter in diameter. This is the commercial size that can be seen among Cebu’s local suppliers.

Kishanta’s drainage pipes have a diameter of 2,250 millimeter.

Kishanta is AboitizLand’s first development in the south of Cebu that is designed to promote wellness and Zen living. It was launched in May this year.

Huge pipe culverts can be seen near the site along the highway in Lagtang, Talisay City as off-site development is currently ongoing.

“Our customers most of the time get to see only the external part of the product like amenities available and the aesthetics adopted,” AboitizLand president and chief operating officer Andoni Aboitiz said. “Kishanta, for instance, is designed to promote wellness and Zen living with each detail meant to achieve it.”

“But it’s not only that. With AboitizLand, they can be assured that the other important things to be mindful about, like in this case the drainage system, which is situated underground and unseen, are also being taken care of,” he said.

The pipes are especially custom-made to fit the drainage general design, which is intended to catch water coming from the high area.

Manila-based TCGI Engineers, part of AboitizLand’s development team, helped create the design that required the drainage pipe, which is the biggest found in Cebu.

This is part of a series of integrated mitigating measures to prevent the onset of flash floods. (PR)
