Ng: Pirated Windows Vista
By Wilson Ng
Wired Desktop

THE Windows Vista preview has just been released, and already talk of pirated versions abound.

According to news reports, the download called “Vista BillGates,” comes with a product key. It allows people to register the said product. So are offers to have Office 2007 Enterprise Edition.

However, Microsoft has sent out warnings not to download or pay for these pirated copies.

Note that all software have its unique serial or activation key, and this time around, Microsoft has the capability of sending a patch through the update services and deactivate a pirated copy or invalidate certain product keys, so people should be wary about buying these.

If the license or key is found out to be invalid later, you might end up with a copy you cannot use.

Of course, even if you don’t have Vista, you can download and use the new Internet Explorer 7.0. This browser is available and can install in Windows XP.

It now has the much ballyhooed tabbed browsing. The tabbed browsing allows you to open more windows through tab, and can be a breeze, especially if you are opening multiple windows.

One of the cool features I always appreciate in tabbed browsing is the ability to put all the websites you regularly visit in just one folder. You can just choose “OPEN TABS,” and you will be able to open all your websites with just one click.

I’d like also to report some nice things I saw on the Internet. One of the sites you may want to look at is the Trump University Web site. One of the world’s most famous entrepreneurs is, of course, Donald Trump, who gain even more fame the last few years because of the hit TV series, The Apprentice.

Recently, he also opened an online university whose primary goal is to teach entrepreneurship. When it opened, it created a lot of excitement, but I guess the tuition was just too expensive for many of us.

However, I think to drum up promotion, there are some free courses that are made available. These are mostly courses you can take for an hour and include videos and other course materials.

Here are a couple of good topics: “How to find startup funding” (http://www.trumpuniversity.com/programs/sba/en002.cfm?c) and “How to write a business plan (http://www.trumpuniversity.com/programs/sba/en001.cfm?c).

Another website you may be interested to check is www.work.com. This is a new website where people can contribute business articles on all aspects of management, rate and comment on other content. As of this writing, there are well over a thousand articles on entrepreneurship which you might want to browse.
