A RESTAURANT in a hotel in Cebu City is reopening its doors following months of renovation.
This time, Port Seafood at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino is confident it will be able to attract more customers not only because of its “freshier and trendier look” but through more affordable food, said proprietress Eleanor Hayco during the restaurant’s re-launch last Saturday.
“People have the misconception that because we are located in Waterfront Hotel, our prices are expensive. But they’re not,” she said.
She said it is Port’s reduced prices that “will keep customers coming back for more.”
Hayco said management has reconfigured the restaurant’s price range and adjusted rates by as much as 50 percent less.
Servings
“We discovered that the way we served the food before was more European or it had a huge serving. Now, servings are reduced but still customers can have more options for their budget,” said Aril Ramos, Port Seafood Inc. press relations consultant.
Port’s continental dishes are as low as P75 and its buffet is offered at P200 on Saturdays and Sundays.
While the restaurant entertains walk-in and hotel guests as well as agency bookings, it also offers catering services.
Port, which first opened in 1998, has a maximum capacity of 120 guests.
Ramos said the restaurant plans to build a function room as well.
Port has maintained its navy and ocean theme but after the renovation, its interiors will be all-white with dark blue accents. It also has a new front landscape.
“These changes were done with minimum interruption in operations,” said Architect Tessi Javier of TP Javier and Associates, who designed the restaurant’s new look.
Javier said the restaurant’s renovation, which is “50 percent done,” still involves major changes and is set to be completed by March next year.
Hayco said about P500,000 was spent for the “initial” renovation. (MMM)
