Robbery, killing of bank manager ‘solved’; complaint filed v. 2 brods

THE Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) considers the Narciso Damole case closed with the identification of the suspects and the filing of complaint against them.

Intelligence chief Ramon Villar said yesterday the MCPO has coordinated with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 7 in the filing of a complaint against brothers Richie and Ryan Mendoza for the death of Damole.

The bank manager was shot at the reclamation area in Mandaue City last Sept. 19.

Villar said the brothers have pending warrants for murder and are now at large.

He said they are also members of the Alpha Kappa Rho fraternity.

The complaint filed by the CIDG was based on the sworn statement of a witness who was initially hesitant to report what he saw the night Damole was shot.

In his sworn statement, the witness said he immediately recognized Ryan because they live in the same barangay and the witness often passes by Ryan’s house.

The witness later recognized Richie when a relative of a murder victim showed him the suspect’s picture.

He got a good view of the suspects because of the headlight of his motorcycle and a lamppost not far from the area.

Ryan reportedly didn’t wear anything to cover his face.

He recognized Ryan, who was standing at Damole’s left side. Ryan’s companion, later identified by the witness as Richie, was at the right.

Damole was on his way home to Cebu City last Sept. 19 when he stopped along Ouano Ave. in Mandaue to change a flat tire.

Two robbers reportedly approached him and took his cellular phone, watch and wallet, which had about P15,000 that he had just withdrawn.

He was shot in the chest and stomach. (AAG)
