Siso to get Outstanding Cebuana award

APART from the cash incentives that Sally Mae Siso will be receiving from the city, she will also receive the Outstanding Cebuana in the field of sports.

Sun.Star Network Online's 12th Asean Summit watch

The award is included in the recommendation of Councilor Sylvan “Jack” Jakosalem in his proposed resolution for next week’s session of the city council.

Jakosalem will be proposing that the city extend its “most sincere and profound commendation to Siso for her sports triumph and that a reasonable cash incentive be bestowed to her.”

Feats

Jakosalem, the head for the council’s committee on sports, said Siso will join the ranks of the Dancesport Team Cebu City (DTCC), which will be awarded for their feats in their fields, during the Charter Day celebration in February.

Siso recently came off an impressive stint in four international tournaments in Malaysia, where she bagged six gold medals and two silvers. DTCC Dance athletes, on the other hand, won 67 gold medals in three competitions in the USA last August.

Jakosalem said Siso’s feat is so impressive that it deserves the kind of recognition given to Cebuanos, who made it big internationally.

His drafted proposal also cited Siso’s feat as “incontrovertibly astonishing and astounding as the same brought not only honor and prestige but remarkable glory to the City of Cebu as well as to the Philippines.” (MCB)
