The BOC also awarded Dumaguete Coconut Mills and Orica Nitrates Philippines Inc. in Oriental Negros, and Lazi Bay Resources in Siquijor.
Confederation of Philippine Exporters Foundation (Philexport) Cebu Inc. executive officer Fred Escalona lauded the BOC for continuing to recognize the contributions of the export and import industry players who have helped in the country’s economic development.
“It is good that exporters and importers outside of MEZ are now recognized for their contributions because they have generated a lot of jobs for the country,” he said.
Despite the challenges facing the sector, export industry players, in particular, “are still able to deliver” and thus, deserve recognition, Escalona said. (MMM)
