Blue Warriors rule PTA 7 regional Age Group event

THE Blue Warriors bagged the over-all crown in the annual Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) Region 7 Regional Age Group Taekwondo Championships last Sunday at the Danao City Sports Complex.

The Warriors tallied 78 points after bagging five gold, 11 silver and 10 bronze medals to go home with the title.

Host Danao City, which snatched more gold medals in the two-day event, salvaged second place with 59 points after kicking seven gold, two silver and four bronze medals.

The Don Vicente Rama Taekwondo Center salvaged third place with 48 points after fishing out five gold, three silver and two bronze medals.

R Power, a newly formed team, took fourth place with 27 points after pulling only with three gold and two silver medals.

Gothong Taekwondo Team scored 18 points after ending with two gold, a silver medal and four bronze medals to take fifth place.

Taekwondo Kick Academy and Glen Taekwondo Center salvaged sixth and seventh place, respectively.

PTA 7 regional director and Cebu City Sports commissioner for Taekwondo Tony del Prado also said that this year’s participants have increased to 180.

“And this time, we are seeing some improvements,” said the regional director. Del Prado is consolidating a calendar of activities and a program for next year before the year ends. He will also submit the to his fellow PTA 7 officials, members and taekwondo centers. (JAF)
