Fire at shed where fireworks are made hurts 2 men
A DAY after a firecracker-related incident gutted a store in Ormoc City, Leyte, a shed where firecrackers are made was razed in Lapu-Lapu City.
Ricardo Ymbong and Joel Ducay suffered first-degree burns due to the incident, which happened in Sitio Radar, Barangay Babag II past 6 p.m. last Tuesday.

According to the Lapu-Lapu City fire department, friction from the cutting of the wicks of firecrackers caused the fire, which started in the middle of the shed, owned by Ancel Ymbong.
The shed was made of light materials.
Damage estimate
The fire department estimated the damage to be worth some P8,000.
The fire, which was placed under first alarm, was declared under control in three minutes totally put out in five minutes.
On Christmas eve, two warehouses in Barangay Labogon, Mandaue City were gutted by a fire believed to be have been caused by firecrackers.
Furniture and service vehicles were among those destroyed in that blaze.
The fire department is questioning some employees who might shed some light on the incident. (AAG)
