ORGANIZERS are recommending a holiday declaration on Jan. 12 and 15 for the Southeast Asian summit, an arrangement that a Mactan-based exporter says will provoke “less resistance” from the sector.

This proposed holiday for schools and government offices in the cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue is “good as approved,” said Ambassador Victoriano Lecaros, spokesman of the 12th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) summit.
