JCI chapter to induct new officers
JUNIOR Chamber International (JCI) Metro Cebu Uptown (Phils.) will celebrate its 22nd induction and turnover ceremonies on Jan. 26.
The group, which is a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs, will meet at the Casino Español de Cebu at 7 p.m.
The celebration carries the theme, “Be Better.”
The keynote speaker is 2007 JCI World president Scott Greenlee of USA.
JCI Metro Cebu Uptown, also known as Metro Cebu Uptown Jaycees, was founded in 1985 by JCI senator Lucio Lim Jr. It has won local and international awards.
Leaders
JCI Metro Cebu Uptown has also produced many young leaders, such as former Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Robert Go, former presidential assistant for Central Visayas Marcelo Fernan Jr. and Trans-Asia Shipping chief executive officer Kenneth Sy, among others.
The club has also played host to the 50th JCI-Philippines National Convention in 1998 and the JCI Asia Pacific Conferences in 1991 and 2003.
The induction and turnover celebration is being spearheaded by its incoming president JCI member Christian Paroan together with past presidents, Lucio Lim Jr. (1985-86), Robert Go (1987), Allan Rapes (1988), Alberto Canada (1989), Domingo Te (1990), Con-rado Pono (1991), Ray Alcoseba (1992), Marcelo Fernan Jr. (1993), Joselo Macachor (1994), Alex Lim (1995), Dennis Wong (1996) and Jerry Rapes (1997).

The organizers also include past presidents Oliver Seno (1998), Jovito Lee Jr. (1999), Guilbert Purcia (1999), Sydney Carcel (2000), Emmanuel Climaco (2001), Edmund Odulio (2002), Michael Uysiuseng (2003), Ernest Evangelista (2004), Thaddeus Jude Sybico (2005) and Ray Gabriel Salgado (2006).
