Wednesday, January 10, 2007 Speak out: When to know you're getting old By Henry L. Yu, M.D.
QUESTION: How do you know you're getting older?
Answer: Memory changes.
It's a sign you have landed in the world of the old and the restless (used to be the young and the restless, circa 1960s, when we were the reigning princes and princesses of the jam session era).
Like having a hard time remembering where you placed your eyeglasses, what you ate for breakfast, what shirt you wore the other day.
Or having a hard time calling your driver by his first name, or calling a friend by phone and not remembering where and how you met this fellow, and a lot more that spell the difference between the young ones and the young once.
Ladies and gentlemen, fellow baby boomers, if you are experiencing any of these, don't worry because you're not alone.
